Unveiling Ceremony of SVCIT Malaysia Satellite Campus Held

On August 21st, the unveiling ceremony of the SVCIT Malaysia Satellite Campus was held at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Lyu Qiang, Vice President, and relevant officials and teachers from Teaching Affairs Department, International Cooperation Office, and School of Network and Communication, as well as students and representatives from CQ-TEC TVET College in Malaysia and Chinese-funded enterprises, attended the ceremony.

Lyu Qiang delivered a passionate speech on behalf of the college. He stated that, as an overseas exchange platform of the college, the SVCIT Malaysia Satellite Campus is a crucial measure to support the talent development of China and Malaysia, the international integration of industry and education, and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. He hopes to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the information industry in China and Malaysia through cooperation with CQ-TEC TVET College and local enterprises, deepen integration and mutual learning, provide opportunities for promoting regional education openness, exchange, and integration, and serve the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.

 

The President of CQ-TEC TVET College in Malaysia, Mr. Rajendran, stated that as a partner of SVCIT, their college attaches great importance to this cooperation and has equipped the campus with new classrooms and hardware equipment. He hopes to empower Malaysian students’ career development and competitiveness by introducing vocational education resources from China.

 

Subsequently, both parties signed a cooperation agreement and held a satellite campus work meeting, summarizing the work carried out in the early stage, and formulating a future work plan.

Lyu Qiang met with the 16 Malaysian students who are study in the dual diploma program of computer network technology and held the opening ceremony for Chinese students participating in the Malaysia Cross-Cultural Summer Camp.

Lecturers from School of Network and Communication conducted professional training on information security.

During the stay in Malaysia, Lyu Qiang also visited Huawei Technologies Malaysia, Alibaba Malaysia office, UCSI University, INTI International University, and TVETAA, and held talks with relevant units on cooperation projects such as skills training, teacher and student education enhancement, and short-term study tours.
